I reminded the "100" people ...I suppose. I reminded the "100" people that when he came back, people he'd known were still alive, and recognized him, thought he was a ghost. "Oh, yeah, right," they all said.Barry Leibahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14205294935881991457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26129073.post-83818571151816470862011-08-19T13:36:15.441-04:002011-08-19T13:36:15.441-04:00Confusion with Sleeping Beauty would be my guess. ...Confusion with Sleeping Beauty would be my guess. Sleeping a hundred years just sounds so canonical, doesn't it?The Ridger, FCDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01538111197270563075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26129073.post-10667569296587000782011-08-19T13:08:56.581-04:002011-08-19T13:08:56.581-04:00This reminds me of something I found about 15 year...This reminds me of something I found about 15 years ago, or thereabouts. I'd been talking with someone who thought that Rip had slept for 100 years, and I started asking people, without giving any prompts for choices, how long RvW had slept.

The answers I got were always either "20" or "100", and about evenly divided between them. No one picked any other number.

I was puzzled about where the "100" came from. If some people had said "100", some "40", some "50", and so on, that'd not have been surprising. But the prevalence of the incorrect "100" made me wonder.Barry Leibahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14205294935881991457noreply@blogger.com
