I'm watching Nova and they're showing us the cute lemurs fleeing from the "super-predator", the fossa. (And just before that, they were showing us the evil lurking crocodiles.)
You know: predators have cute little babies, too. Do you want those little baby fossa to starve?
ps - Not to blame Nova, which is even now worrying about fossa becoming extinct. But some wildlife programs - and more people - act like only cute little non-predators deserve to live. As David Attenborough said, "Animal lover means sentiment; a cloying, anthropomorphising sentiment."
