Disconnect
So I'm watching Condoleeza Rice telling the Cubans that they "have no greater friend than the USA." She also said that the US would support their right "to choose their leaders in free and democratic elections." Sure, as long they don't choose someone we don't like ... like Hamas, say.
I don't understand how she - or any of them - can say things like that. Do they really not see that what they do contradicts all their fine rhetoric? Do they really think no one in the world notices the disconnect between what they say and what they do?
For that matter - do they even notice it? Or is it just part of life in the non-reality-based community?
