A Tale of Two Quotes

From John Lynch over at Stranger Fruit comes this set of quotes:

"History teaches that underestimating the words of evil and ambitious men is a terrible mistake. Bin Laden and his terrorist allies have made their intentions as clear as Lenin and Hitler before them. The question is: Will we listen? Will we pay attention to what these evil men say?"
- G.W. Bush, 9/5/06

But those of us who wanted to pay attention - to finish that job before we took on the (we were sure) difficult if not impossible, not to mention irrelevant and probably immoral and illegitimate, job in Iraq - back when we were actually fighting bin Laden were told this:

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02
