The Week in Entertainment
(Spent yesterday travelling and then resting up from that, so no posting. Several things to catch up on, then! First up, this...)
DVD: Black Dragons - a desperately dreadful movie starring Bela Lugosi ... I'd tell you the plot but it would spoil the way the movie was meant to be viewed. Not that I think it would make it better, mind you. Also The Invisible Ghost, another old Lugosi B-movie, but actually pretty good, primarily for Lugosi's performance, the atmospheric direction, some odd humor (the casual way everyone accepts Lugosi's dinner with his absent wife, the toss-away "there's been a lot of murders committed in this house"), and the refreshing treatment given the black butler - he's the sanest, most stable person in the movie.
TV: golf, college football (UT getting outplayed by Penn), college women's basketball (UT beating UConn!!!!!!), and Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars (yes, again) Edited to add: How could I forget??? We watched something called Lake Placid, which I had forgotten until just now when I saw Betty White on a commercial: she was the dotty old lady who fed the giant man-eating crocodiles in the lake (no, it was in Maine...)
Read: Something Rotten; The Ladies of Grace Adieu - which I liked very much indeed; and Neil Gaiman's splendid collection Fragile Things
