Dino babies
These guys really do look like fuzzy dinosaurs as they stalk around grazing. The little bitty ones don't (see below) and neither do their grown parents, but at this stage - not quite three weeks old - they do. At least, they do to me. What do you think?
The news on the goose front this past week is twofold: first, this family is now down to only two goslings. The gander is still lame, so maybe he can't protect the little ones as well as he could last year. These two stick pretty close to mom, that's for sure.
And here's the other news - the other pair of geese is back! They must come from further away or something. I never spotted the nest, but here they are, once again (like last year) several weeks behind the other pair, with little yellow-green balls of fluff instead of great gray ungainly dino-babies. They only have two to start with. Both parents are very protective - the gander rushed me Friday morning as the goose and goslings were walking down the middle of the path. No pictures - sorry! I was too busy jumping backwards and promising I'd wait till they were gone, really.

A friend of mine once got it into his head to raise chickens. I had the same "Gee these look like dinosaurs" thought.
Yes! A wonderful visual association, absolutely.
