Saturn and Luna, together again (sort of)

Ooooo. Guess what? This is real. The only manipulation here was to reduce the difference in brightness between Saturn and the cratered lunar surface. This picture was taken a few days ago, with a digital camera and 20 inch diameter telescope at the Weikersheim Observatory in southern Germany [Credit & Copyright: Jens Hackmann]. As they tell us at NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day, "because the Moon and bright planets wander through the sky near the ecliptic plane, such occultation events are not uncommon, but they are dramatic, especially in telescopic views."

Wow, this is so cool, a treasure. Saturn has shown us so much through Cassini, I did feel somehow our earthbound scopes might fail to hold up to the amazement. This proves my thoughts were only baseless fears.
