The Week in Entertainment
Live: The Baltimore Opera's production of Tosca - wow. I was privileged to be at a truly virtuoso performance last night. Antonello Palombi's BOC debut was thrilling. Damn, the man can sing. Yes, James Morris's Scarpia was good, but it was Palombi's Cavaradossi who brought down the house - the applause actually stopped the show at one point. Do yourself a favor and see this. I should add - the set design was brilliant, too.
DVD: some Attenborough, some more Mirage of Blaze, and Night at the Museum - still enjoyable.
TV: the regulars - House, Veronica Mars, Bill Moyers, the Gates, and Scrubs.
Read: Some more Purser (Terror on Tuesday, Weeping on Wednesday, Theft on Thursday - I wonder what she'll do when she runs out of weekdays? Kemelman moved on to "someday" and "one fine day" but he had branded with "The Rabbi" as well...) and some more Ingersoll; also Diana Wynne Jones' latest, The Game, excellent as usual.
