The Week in Entertainment

DVD: Night at the Museum - I really enjoy having Ben Stiller in a movie I like! That doesn't happen very often... Scrubs season 5.

TV: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh. Heroes ended well. Even though I wish Peter Petrelli had flown away by himself at the end once he realized Nathan's plan. Maybe he couldn't do anything by then but slow down his explosion. I should have had more faith in Nathan - Peter's dream was, I think, his glimpsing the future that Isaac painted, and in every version of it Nathan was there. I could have done without Molly's little "Don't die, Officer Parkman, you're my heeero" at the end, but when that's all there is to complain about. And then Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Veronica Mars is gone. Yes, this season wasn't so good, but it was still almost the best show on tv and one of the reasons I got DVR. The network messed with it and left it on against House and I think we all knew it wasn't coming back. They didn't wrap everything up neatly, but it ended powerfully for a season-ender. There's even hope for Dick Casablancas (props to Ryan Hanson for making us care about that character!)... Also found the oddly named My Best Friend Is a Vampire with a very, ridiculously in fact, young Robert Sean Leonard as the title character - not a bad movie, actually rather entertaining at least once.

Read: Christopher Moore's Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck - very funny as all of his books are, with an undercurrent of serious and sad. The Emperor of San Francisco is such a wonderful character for a such a minor one... and I really wonder how Abby and Steve "Foo Dog"'s lives are going to go. Also picked up a book of Alice Munro short stories the name of which I cannot remember and which I left in the office...
