Muscovy Duck
Ran across this odd duck (hee hee) at Melton Hill Lake/Clinch River. Couldn't find it in my field guide - they tend not to include domestics, hybrids, and ferals, though such ducks are common - but a quick look at Kevin McGowan's helpful pages provided an ident: it's a Muscovy. (There's another nice set of photos of such ducks at 10 000 Birds, too.) There are mallards, coots, and geese galore, as well as the familiar white domestic duck all over the place too. (The geese are newish (about 20 years) permanent residents. There were none, ever, when I was growing up here.)
