Fred finally shows up

If this is what desperate Republicans like my brother have been waiting for, I pity them. Fred Thompson: "I don't buy the idea that loss of tax revenues is a loss to the government. The taxpayers haven't lost it; it's in their pocket."

The "taxpayers" don't have one giant pocket. And if I misunderstood him, and he said "pockets", it doesn't really help his case. The rich taxpayers keep the money. The poor taxpayers aren't the ones whose taxes are putatively being raised, so they aren't keeping anything.

It's more of the same: the rich will get richer under Fred and the poor will get poorer, and the government will have no loss ... because the GOP wants to destroy the government, and have since Reagan if not earlier. Sure, he didn't crash and burn, but he hardly starred.
