Glass Booth - your issues, your candidate

Here's a nifty little tool for finding out how candidates match up to what's important to you. Glassbooth.org is a new non-profit, non-partisan political start-up that aims to both activate and inform voters in the run-up to the 2008 election. They've compiled the most comprehensive database available on every presidential candidate's stance on every major issue, and the information is organized and classified in a way that's transparent and accessible at multiple levels of detail.

They offer a quiz and information like what you see at OnTheIssues (who is a partner) , but more comprehensive, user-friendly, and personalized. The idea is essentially to provide a one-stop shop for both political junkies and people who don't have the time or the desire to follow politics to get a highly accurate reading of which candidates best align with their values and beliefs...all in 10 minutes or less.

Once you've taken the 'quiz' and been matched with candidates, you can explore their positions and see why they were selected. You can also take any candidate and compare his positions to yours - useful if you were surprised by the results.

(FWIW, I got Dennis 91%, Mike Gravel at 88%, and John Edwards at 85%.)

I took a similar quiz here and I knew Dennis would be "my winner" and sure enough he easily beat the next closest candidate. Like I've said before, he's right on the issues - IMO. That said, I don't think there is a chance in hell he will be elected. I know that's a piss-poor reason not to support the guy, but there you go. Cynicism is nearly synonymous with pragmatism.
