ACTFL 2007 VII: Wrap up - flowers, La Villita, Marriott, and Gompers

This one took a while to get to ... bits and pieces, odds and ends, from the trip.

Fkowers here and there around San Antonio:

Here's a Texas Crescent butterfly on clover:

La Villita is an old town that's essentially a shopping center for tourists - crafts of all kinds, metal-work and ceramics and jewelry.

This is the river entrance to La Villita:

Here's the hotel we stayed at, the Marriott Riverwalk - and if you share rooms and get a good conference rate it is within the government per diem... otherwise, not hardly! Which, to be frank, makes their charging for internet access a bit, well, cheap. I guess mostly they have guests who aren't paying personally, but a lot of places that cost much less give you wireless for nothing nowadays!

Marriott

Here are the pair of Marriotts, the Riverwalk (tall and straight) and River Center (stepped).

Down the street from the Marriott and across from the conference center is this statue in honor of Samuel Gompers, founder of the AFL:
