Darwin Day

Today is Darwin Day. I'm not a biologist, so I'm going to point you at some essays by those who are.

Brian at Laelaps writes a nice appreciation of Darwin.

Greg Laden looks at the voyage of the Beagle.

Afarensis quotes Darwin on fossils.

Richard Dawkins tells us why Darwin matters.

And check out the wonderful anniversary page at the Guardian: "150 years ago, Charles Darwin unveiled his theory of natural selection. To mark this anniversary we bring you the definitive guide to the naturalist's great book, with extracts from key chapters and essays from leading scientists and thinkers."
