no serpents involved

For some reason I can't quite explain, I'm watching Sci-Fi's Basilisk: The Serpent King. The woman scientist - the expert on legends - just said that basilisk is "an Egyptian word. It means 'serpent king'."

Unfortunately, she's wrong. It's a Greek word and 'serpent' isn't in it anywhere; it is originally 'basiliskos', and it means 'little king', being the diminutive of basileus , king.

Is it wrong to be nit-picky about things like this when voluntarily watching a Sci-Fi channel original? It probably is...

Nah, not wrong 'tall. Submit it to the IMDB as a "factual error", under "goofs".
