Ahhhhh, so nice to hear
Now this is good news:
For the fourth consecutive game, a Rays starter yet to celebrate a 27th birthday stymied the Yankees, and with Thursday’s loss New York dropped to last in the A.L. East. Not so much the Rays' young starters (though really ... Tampa Bay? Tampa Bay??) - it's that "Yankees in last place" part of it. Sweet.
It is weird to think of Tampa Bay in first place, though I'm sure they deserve it after so long. And Baltimore's playing over .500 (let's keep our eyes averted from the NL for the moment) and the season's young.
Of course that means the Yankees will probably climb out of the cellar. But a gal can hope, right?
Which reminds me of a friend whose favorite year ever is 1966: the Orioles beat the Dodgers four straight for the World Series, and the Yankees finished last. Ahhhh. Good times. Good times...

Is it safe to confess that I grew up in a family of rabid Yankee fans? That I was once such a fan myself (you don't think de-conversion applies only to religion, do you?)? That my brother and his two kids (and grandkids too) are continuing that fine old family tradition?
Totally safe, even though I adore the book "Marlborough Street", in which the Final Battle between Good and Evil takes place during a Red Sox-Yankees weekend series... guess which side is which (grin)?
