They'll be surprised pretty soon

It rained so much the last few days that my apartment complex acquired a temporary "pond" of standing water on the saturated ground. If you peer through the pears in the background you can just make out Maryland 198... The water wasn't there last week, and yet some ducks found it. They're settled in, though there can't be anything to eat there... and the water will likely disappear soon, though they've promised us more rain tomorrow and Saturday and into the week. Grackles and robins are absolutely loving having all the high grass, obviously filled with bugs and whatnot, and the water there for drinks and baths.
