US Open Playoff

I love the fact that the US Open has an 18-hole playoff... except when I have to be at work on Monday. Thank goodness for the Internet - the USGA has live streaming video. A late lunch, and then I'll check in on and off while grading papers. And even sweeter - no commercials, just long shots of the coast along Torrey Pines...

He just came out of the bunker with a bad shot that bounced a ball off the blacktop path well off the the green. Off the fairway. If he's going to win this one (and at the moment he leads Tiger by 1), he'll have to have a moment or two of brilliance - or a Tiger collapse - to recover from this. Of course, this is the US Open, so either of those - or both - are possible.

And in fact, his lie was pretty good and he hit it onto the green. He might save his par - might. Nope. Man. How could that not go in? Bogey for Rocco, but Tiger missed his birdie opportunity, so both players at +1, even after five.
