What's Important 54

McCain collageFifty-fourth in a series.

From the McCain campaign, which back in January complained bitterly about robocalls used against him in South Carolina, and just one day - less than one day - after he said at the debate that "I regret some of the negative aspects of both campaigns" and that the economy is "what my campaign is all about and that's what it'll continue to be all about", this is what we get:

We now have documented four McCain/RNC robocalls, some known to be running in multiple states:
  • One that questions Obama's patriotism by saying he put "Hollywood above America" during the financial crisis.

  • One that says that Obama and Dems "aren't who you think they are" and claims they merely "say" they want to keep us safe.

  • One that attaches him to "domestic terrorist Bill Ayers," whose group "killed Americans."

  • And [one] which dishonestly paints him as indifferent to the lives of babies.
So I guess when he said "I regret some of the negative aspects of both campaigns", this is what he meant.

(see here for scripts of the robocalls)
