Andy Harris, friend of the working man

Neither of my senators are up for re-election this year. My congressman is as safe as one can be and hasn't run a single ad (that I've seen). The only race in the whole state seems to be Frank Kratovil (D) against Andy Harris (R). (Harris, backed by Club for Growth, knocked out incumbent Wayne Gilchrest in the primaries - Gilchrest being one of only two GOP national-level politicians in the state.) That Kratovil-Harris race is vicious, and there's not an hour that passes on local TV where you don't see at least one ad from each guy, and usually more.

I have to say, though, that the ad that really attracted my notice is the one where the GOP pretends to be worried about what will happen to unions if the "extremely liberal" Kratovil is elected. That's so damned rich: the GOP worrying about labor unions. It would, as my grandmother used to say, make a cat laugh.

OTOH, I have to go online to see a presidential ad - that or head up into the 200s and find a Virginia station. And that's no bad thing.
