This map makes me very happy
From Paul Krugman's blog, a map showing how counties voted compared to last time - not absolutely, but red- or blue-shifted:
So there's that swath in the middle (West Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, and parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Alabama, and a bit more in the Florida panhandle. Oh, somewhat in Arizona and Alaska, of course) that voted more Republican. The rest of the country, even where McCain won, still voted more Democratic than in 2004.
