In what freaking alternate reality, Christine?

Christine Todd Whitman laments that Arlen Specter deserted the party because "I believe that now, more than ever, it is important for us moderates to stay and work from within."
In the coming election cycle, we have the opportunity to remind the nation that our party is committed to such important values as fiscal restraint, less government interference in our everyday lives, environmental policies that promote a balanced approach between protection and economic interest, and a foreign policy that is engaged with the rest of the world. The responsibility of ensuring that the party follows the right path lies with those moderates who are willing to work to make it happen.
All I can say is, Whitman is not a member of a party that is committed to any of those things. Of course, "reminding the nation" of things that aren't true is a core Republican tactic, so this one might fly.

I'm not sure Whitman is committed to any of those things, either, especially "fiscal restraint."

She sure never voted like she did, did she? Those moderates fell in line with everything...
