Music Mismatch
It was odd when that plane company years ago accompanied their ad touting their business class, where you could sleep, with Luciano Pavarotti singing "Nessun Dorma".
But this is the most bizarre matching of music to message: Lincoln's using "Major Tom" to advertise a the MKZ. Sure, if you don't know the song, it sounds cool:
Standing there alone, the ship is waiting. All systems are go! Are you sure? Control is not convinced, but the computer has the evidence: no need to abort. ... The countdown starts. 4-3-2-1 Earth below us, drifting, fallingAnd that's where they stop the commercial. All space age and cool.
But if you know the song, do you want to buy that car? Major Tom dies!!!

Not a commercial, but do you remember during the Republican convention in the Reagan years when they played Springsteen's "Born in the USA"? Apparently they never bothered to listen to any of the rest of the words.
Oh, yeah. That was a classic.
