Also - David Feherty said something that I found a bit odd, linguistically speaking. Describing Jim Furyk's drive he said "he hit that nice and smoothly".

For me, that "nice and" means the next adverb is always flat. I wouldn't say "he hit that smooth", but I would say "nice and smooth". How about you?
