Don't report those bites!
So, as a public service announcement, Ryan at Dinosaur Comics warns us that raccoons have found strength in numbers and are tired of being shooed away. I checked out the story in the Lakeland, Florida, Ledger, and found this bizarre statement:
Haight said, while uncommon, rabies poses a serious threat to people if they are bitten by an infected animal and report it immediately.No, it's not ungrammatical - that's no dangler! But the sentence says rabies is only a threat if you report being bitten. That's like the exact opposite of the way it really works. Untreated, rabies is always fatal.
Looks like part of a sentence (or maybe two) got removed in error, here.

it reminds me of what happened to this sentence i read, also in a warning:
"Users who receive such a message should immediately delete the e-mail and do not reply."
