«How can it be "faster"?»

I guess when your local employees are juggling golf balls, and the offshore folks are actually working?

Seriously, it can also be faster if it's a job that can be split into parallel bits, and it's enough cheaper to send it overseas that two or three people can work on it at once, where you'd only be able to afford one here.

I think, maybe, perhaps, possibly, he's somehow equating some kind of communication (telephone? internet?) with computers in general.

I don't know what he's doing. It's cheaper, it's easier, it's more efficient ... but faster? Computers don't care what country they're in.

Now if that panel had come before seeing Dagwood goofing off, the implication might have been "faster because those Indians work harder", but actually Dithers seems to believe that no matter where his work goes, it won't be done...
