Time for a Change
We're staying in the Sheraton Anchorage. They have one of those nice green programs where you don't have them give you new towels and bed linens every single day. They left two cards in the room. One says
If you would like fresh linens, please place this card on your bed in the morning. Please hang towels you wish to reuse on the rack, and leave towels to be washed on the floor.Somebody else wrote the other one. It says
Please place this card on your bed for fresh bed linens and leave towels on the floor that you want cleaned.
ps - It's absurd to come to Alaska and be warmer than I was in Maryland!

Nah, there are mountains in the way.
Got time to bird? Or is this business?
It's business; I wouldn't choose February for a vacation in Alaska! But we will have some time; tomorrow we hope to drive south to Girdwood, through the Chugach National Park, and go up one of the mountains, and we hope to get to Earthquake Park, too, weather cooperating.
But I did see a magpie today, and also some ravens.
