The Weeks in Entertainment
Schedule not quite rehewn-to... I missed last week!
Film: Toy Story 3 - very good, excellent script and we saw it in Imax 3D, which is amazing. Also Shrek Forever After, which is not quite as good but which still made me laugh, a lot.
DVD: Watched Leverage season 2 - they have good, entertaining commentaries. Also Alice in Wonderland - more Tim Burton than Lewis Carroll, but if you don't know that going in you haven't been paying attention to Burton. "I need a pig here!" I enjoyed the heck out of it.
TV: Some more Leverage - I am very glad it's back, but I'm also a bit worried. It's a short-season cable show, and a split-season cable show, and if they keep doing two episodes a week they'll burn through them all in less than a month! (Yes, I know I could DVR them and stretch it out, but I don't have the discipline!) Aliens in the Attic: not bad, but I'm glad I didn't pay to see it in a theater. (Best line: "It's like a video game!" "This isn't X-box! It's real, like Wii!")
Read: Finished The Russian Dreambook of Color and Light, which was very good, very Bulgakovian, to the very end. Deception by Kellerman - a much better book than the last couple entries in the Alex Delaware series. Began Khoroshiy Stalin (The Good Stalin), Viktor Erofeyev's story about the scandal that destroyed his father's career and his part in it. Unfortunately, I left in on the desk in my office, so I'll have to wait to finish it. Under the Dome by Stephen King. Also a good read, but beware: everyone you come to hate will get theirs, but not everyone you come to like will make it through...
