Ryder Cup Day 2

Ryder Cup 2010 logo This weird, weather-warped Cup ends its second day with six matches still underway, to finish up tomorrow before the singles get underway. It's USA 6 - Europe 4, but Europe is leading in all six. 4 up and 3 up in the two foursomes, and 1, 2, 1, and 2 up in the fourballs, with the last match on the fourth green.

I'm sure the US team is glad the darkness has overtaken them. Maybe tomorrow they can get some of the momentum back. (Tiger is 4 down after 9, by the way.) Maybe they can't. Lee Westwood just said, understandably, "it's a shame that it's gotten dark." I'm sure Europe all feels that way. They have to hope to hold the momentum.

It's the first Ryder Cup that every player has had to (gotten to) play in the Friday/Saturday fourballs-foursomes, thanks to the weather. That's interesting. It's also the first time they've played basically dawn to dusk - from 8 am to 7 pm.

Tomorrow will be interesting.
