Doglike
Holmes asked Watson, "What is that Aubrey could have had with him in the jungles of Central Africa, immune to the venom of Lycosa carnivora, that was both doglike and faithful?"
Watson said, "Why not a little dog?"
"No, no," said Holmes. "A dog wouldn't be immune."
You know what? A dog wouldn't be doglike, either.
(ps - yes, I know. Watson was objecting to "doglike" and wondering why it couldn't have just been a dog. It just struck me funny.)
