The Week in Entertainment
Live: Jersey Boys at the Hippodrome. It was a lot of fun, very well done and of course that fabulous music. I love the Four Seasons. It's a great show.
DVD: Secretariat, which I enjoyed a lot. I remember watching those Triple Crown races and having a secret sympathy for Sham, but then that Belmont. Wow. Never been a horse like him before or since. That Belmont win was so astonishing...
TV: The Mentalist, a good episode. I liked the way Jane handled the hostage situation. A couple of episodes of Shameless - the one with the stolen baby was hilarious.
Read: Lirika by Boris Pasternak. The Chestermarke Instinct and The Herapath Property, which aren't the Robert Ludlums they sound like but rather two more by Joseph Fletcher. And a very entertaining short story by John Scalzi, "The President's Brain Is Missing."
