Seriously?

Jeopardy! is going to let her get away with "Tennessee University" for "University of Tennessee"?

Apparently they are.

I guess she's lucking out, in that there is no "Tennessee University" - TSU, ETSU, MTSU, yes.

But they're getting soft, aren't they?

I don't consider myself a hardass, but I agree with you - there isn't a Tennessee University. Besides, it seems to me that UT is well enough known that it should be familiar to most reasonably well-educated people, even if they aren't football fans.

It also seems to me that many, if not most, state universities whose names begin with the state have "State" as part of the name - Georgia State, Ohio State, Mississippi State, Cal State, and, yes, Tennessee State University.

My real cavil here is that this is the show that just a few minutes later penalized a contestant for pronouncing "silicon" with a long O. They're hard core. How did they let that slip by?
