Happy Birthday, Oscar

WildeToday in 1854, in Dublin, one of the world's most quotable men - Oscar Wilde - was born.

It is only an auctioneer who can equally and impartially admire all schools of art.

It is better to have a permanent income than to be fascinating.

There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written or badly written.

And, of course,

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.
