Happy Birthday, Marie

Dorothy Parker wrote a poem called "Comment"
Oh, life is a glorious cycle of song,
A medley of extemporanea;
And love is a thing that can never go wrong,
And I am Marie of Roumania.
This is all I know about Marie of Romania.

But she was born today in 1875.

Well, she was beautiful, and delightfully scandalous. I suppose today she woud be called a "celebrity" but she was much more interesting than today's celebrities (or today's Royals, come to that). Too adventurous a life to sum up in one paragraph, but there's at least one biography of her.
