Well, I was all ready to complain that "these two men first met when one of them told a friend, Stamford, of needing new lodgings in London" was hardly worthy of being a Final Jeopardy clue when one of them got it wrong, writing (as a joke) "Scrooge and Marley" instead of "Holmes and Watson".
So once again my notion of what's common knowledge is proved wrong.
