Not again!

Ah, Kathie. This one must have been for you!

The Portuguese call it Ano Novo. With three lovely long O's. Ann-Oh Noh-voh.

New Year's, pretty obviously. But once again Alex pronounces Portuguese like Spanish. As the guys recorded for Forvo make it clear, those final Os are English U's: uh-noo no-voo. Or, in IPA /ˈɐnu ˈno.vu/ not /ˈa.ɲo ˈno.vu/. 

ps - whatever you do, don't forget the /ɲ/ -(n+y-glide) in Spanish nuevo año. Novo isn't a Spanish word (as far as I know) and ano ... is, but not one you want to wish someone a new one of!
