Two birds

The red-bellied woodpecker was hard to find, and took off shortly after I did, but I like the shot of her at the trunk - look at that tongue. And the cardinal has a mite infestation that has caused him to molt all his black feathers, leaving his face bare. Hasn't stopped him flying around with a female, though.

PS: cardinals actually molt their heads bare every year, so this guy just might be starting that process early.

Oddly, considering that they are sexually dimorphous, yes.
