The Week in Entertainment
Film: Transformers - a big, noisy, action-packed Michael Bay summer movie, and for what it was, quite good. I do have to wonder about the fact that most of the people in the movie were deaf - not to mention that nonconservation of mass - but <shrug> you can't expect too much from these things (more substantive comment here) and it was enjoyable for the genre.
DVD: Several Charlie Chan (Treasure Island, Race Track, Egypt, Paris, and Murder over New York). Oh, man ... those old airplanes. Those huge seats, all that leg room, those little tables. Where did it all go? How did they turn into those cramped people-movers we have today? Sigh...
TV: Doctor Who - yay! Third season! Martha looks cool.
Read: Liz Williams' first two Inspector Chen novels - Snake Agent and The Demon and the City - which I quite liked.
